Crews arrived to a well-established fire on the third floor of an apartment building. The sprinkler system in the building activated which prevented the fire from spreading. SDFD firefighters attacked the fire and also searched the third and fourth floors for people who needed assistance.
One patient was transported to UCSD code 50.
One patient treated and released at the scene.
Estimated damage to the structure = $250k
Estimated damage to the contents = $75k
Estimated damage to exposures (adjacent units) = $750k
This was an accidental fire caused by smoking materials.
