SDFD crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the second story of a two-story, single-family residence. One family member used a ladder at the residence to rescue occupants from the home prior to crews' arrival.
Three people were transported to UCSD Hillcrest as follows:
One patient code 20
Two patients code 10
Two patients were evaluated at the scene but not transported.
Six adults and one pet displaced and assisted by Red Cross.
Estimated damage to the structure = $500k
Estimated damage to the contents = $250k
The Metro Arson Strike Team is investigating.
A smoke alarm alerted residents to the fire.
